Parent & Caregiver Guide

The gentle "why" behind our star system.

How to Use This App

Mom and BiBi, you're a team! Here’s how to get started and celebrate each little win together.

  1. Link your phones with the Family Code

Each of you signs in with your own account. Whoever goes first enters her caregiver name and the child's name, then taps “Create chart”. Open Family & Settings using the people icon at the top and share the 6-letter Family Code. On the other phone, sign in, enter your caregiver name, choose “Join an existing chart”, enter that code, and tap “Join chart”. You’ll both see the same missions, rewards, and star balance.

  2. Check off daily missions

Open Today and tap a mission when it’s finished. A checkmark appears and its stars go into the bank. Check whether it’s already marked before awarding it on the other phone. Use “Add” for a new mission or “Edit” to change a mission’s name, description, or stars, or delete it.

  3. Celebrate honesty and first-time listening right away

On Today, find “Character Champion bonuses”. Tap “Truth Teller” when she bravely tells the truth, or “First-Time Listener” when she follows the first request. Give warm, specific praise as you tap. For another kind moment, enter a reason and star amount under “Instant bonus”, then tap “Give ⭐”. Mom or BiBi awards each moment once.

  4. Choose and redeem a reward

Open Rewards together and pick something she’s excited about. Each reward shows its cost and how many more stars she needs. When she has enough, tap “Redeem reward” and confirm. The cost comes out of her Star Bank, where you can also see her earned and spent stars. Use “Add reward” or “Edit” to customize the store.

  5. BiBi, print the weekly fridge tracker

Open Printable and tap “Print Weekly Tracker”. In your phone or computer’s print options, choose a printer and letter-size paper (8.5 × 11 inches). The chart includes the weekly missions, blank stars for coloring or stickers, bonus spaces, and a mini Rewards Store Menu. If you use the paper chart first, Mom or BiBi can check off those missions in Today afterward using the date picker—just record each win once.

🌷 Why Positive Reframing Works

Children this age are still learning that mistakes are survivable. When the focus is on catching a lie, a child learns that hiding is safer than honesty.

The Truth Teller bonus flips that around: we celebrate the brave moment of telling the truth — especially when she admits a mistake. Calmly thank her first, then handle the mistake together.

Over time she learns that home is a safe place to be honest, and honesty becomes part of who she is.

👂 Breaking the Nagging Cycle

When we repeat a request five times, children quietly learn that the first four don't count. The First-Time Listener bonus makes the first ask the one that matters.

Say it once, warmly and clearly, at eye level. If she follows through, award the star right away and name what she did: “You listened the first time — that really helps.”

If she doesn't, skip the lecture. No star this time, and a fresh chance next time.

🧩 Routine Chunking

A 15-item checklist feels like being micromanaged and is hard for a 7–10 year old to hold in her head. Four or five grouped missions — Morning Ready, School & Ballet Prep, Space Care, Evening Routine — are easy to remember and give her ownership of how to get each one done.

Each mission is one clear win. Fewer, bigger wins build confidence and independence faster than many tiny boxes.

As she grows, adjust the missions together — she can help choose new ones.

🤝 Unified Front for Mom & BiBi

Use the same missions, the same star values and the same rewards in both homes. The shared chart in this app keeps everyone in sync automatically.

Keep praise high and calm: specific, warm and short. Save big excitement for real milestones.

Let the star store handle privileges. Instead of debating TV or treats, point to the store: “That's 4 stars — want to check your bank?” It takes the power struggle out of the conversation.

Never take away stars she has already earned. Earned is earned; tomorrow is a fresh start.
